My hospital email address changed

Once in a while, your hospital email address may change. This may be due to:

  • Your hospital changed the email addresses used by all staff (For example, first-last@gh.orgfirst.last@generalhealth.org)
  • You had a unique email address change due to a personal legal name-change (For example, sam-smith@gh.orgsam-jones@gh.org)

In this event, you may wonder how this affects your Familyfirst account.

What it means for your Familyfirst account

First of all, your Familyfirst account will continue to work as expected with your old email until a change to your Familyfirst account has been made as well. This means that if you want to continue logging into Familyfirst with your old email, that is totally acceptable. The only issue arises in the event that you forget your password, and need to reset it. In this case, we will need to send you an email with password reset instructions, and since the email on your Familyfirst account is outdated, you will not receive that email.

You have two choices of action:

  • Be proactive and update your Familyfirst account immediately:
    • Reach out to an administrator / Familyfirst champion at your hospital to get your account changed (or email us at help@familyfirst.io)
  • Wait until you need to reset your password to handle it:
    • At that time, you would just need to reach out to an administrator / Familyfirst champion at your hospital to get your account changed (or email us at help@familyfirst.io)
